Neil Stevenson

Solicitor & Consultant, Farms & Estates

Training and qualifying with a practice in the south of England in 1980, Neil spent a short spell in industry as an in-house lawyer, then moved to a Westminster law firm staying there for a number of years. Neil returned to the North East joining Latimer Hinks as a Partner in 1997, becoming a Director in 2015 and consultant solicitor in 2021.

Neil has, over the years, acquired a wealth of knowledge and experience in all aspects of commercial and agricultural real estate with particular emphasis on acquiring and disposing of land for development. This includes negotiating options, promotion agreements and development agreements with major house builders and developers. In addition, he has a particular expertise in retail property.

Neil also deals with the acquisition and disposal of farms and farm land and in recent years has specialised in renewable energy. He has facilitated the development of a number of wind farms and solar farms in the North, and further afield as well, and was recently involved with what is understood to be the first subsidy-free wind farm in England.
