Latimer Hinks welcomes experienced property conveyancer

Latimer Hinks Solicitors has welcomed Rob Steer, an experienced solicitor specialising in residential conveyancing, to its expanding team joining as an Associate Solicitor as part of its next phase of growth.

Rob graduated from Northumbria University with a degree in law and in 2012 landed his first job in the legal sector at a firm in Middlesbrough, he said: “I actually started out working on PPI claims to get my foot in the door and eventually I secured a training contract in 2014 with a different Middlesbrough-based law firm, where I worked for 3 years”.

“I am Darlington born and bred and I was keen to advance my career locally. I secured a role working for a well-establish firm based in Darlington, where I remained for 6 years and eventually progressed to the role of salaried partner, up until joining Latimer Hinks.”

A highlight in Rob’s career so far was the sale of a major portfolio which comprised a significant number of properties, Rob said: “This deal was invaluable in terms of my learning and development. It consisted essentially of the same work I do day-to-day, but just on much larger scale.”

Latimer Hinks recently made a significant investment in its IT systems, aiming to revolutionise the way that it works with its clients, which Rob is discovering: “One difference between Latimer Hinks and other firms I have worked at is the IT facilities, which are far more advanced here, so it has been quite a learning curve for me”.

Rob is enjoying the positive change and helping Latimer Hinks in its expansion: “Latimer Hinks has an excellent reputation and soon after I accepted the job, I discovered that they were expanding into new offices, which is great news and illustrates just how well the firm is doing”.

“Every single member of staff here has made time for me and has ensured I feel welcome; it’s a really tight-knit, friendly firm.”

Elizabeth Armstrong, managing director, said: “We are delighted to welcome Rob, an experienced residential conveyancer, to Latimer Hinks.
