Latimer Hinks supports local football team
Darlington law firm Latimer Hinks is continuing its community support with the sponsorship of Darlington Spraire Lads under 9s football team.
Darlington Spraire Lads was formed in 1982, initially catering for boys football, but since 1999 the club has expanded to provide opportunities for girls to play as well, resulting in the club adopting their current title, Darlington Spraire Lads Lasses Football Club. Spraire Lads provide junior teams from U8s through to U18s, as well as two senior teams. The junior teams, play competitive football on Sundays in the very successful Teesside Junior Football Alliance.
The Under 9s will sport Latimer Hinks logo on their shirts during Julys very popular Spraire Lads Tournament, to be held this year at Darlington Rugby Club and during next seasons league campaign. Anne Elliott, partner at Latimer Hinks said: We value our links with the local community and are pleased to be associated with developments that increase opportunities for wider participation in sport. Darlington Spraire is renowned for its development of younger players and often it is the younger teams that find it difficult to raise sponsorship funding.
The opportunity to play football gives the youngsters something constructive to focus on and is a real asset to the towns sporting facilities. Phil Hutchinson, manager of the Under 9s said: Without the support of local businesses it would be impossible for us to keep going. We had a successful first season with the boys last year as Under 8s, finishing 6th in the league. We hope to build on this next season and are always on the lookout for new young players to join the team.
