Former trainees appointed as partners

Darlington law firm Latimer Hinks has appointed two of its former trainee solicitors as partners. Nicola Neilson, 29 and Claire Reeves, 28 have joined the 8 strong team of partners.

Nicola joined Latimer Hinks in September 2000. She studied law at Teesside University before completing a Masters degree at Durham University. Nicola specialises in commercial property work including landlord and tenant matters and the sale and purchase of freehold properties. When not at work, Nicola is a Rainbow Guider and a Burnley football club season ticket holder. Claire works within the Private Client department at Latimer Hinks. She joined the firm in September 2001 after studying at Durham University. Inheritance tax planning, estate planning, wills and probate are Claires specialism. Time outside work is spent on DIY in the new home she has recently bought. Anne Elliott, partner at Latimer Hinks, said: Nicola and Claires appointments demonstrate our on-going commitment to employing and retaining young, talented solicitors. It is very pleasing that two of our trainees have progressed to partner level. Firms in towns, such as Darlington, with specialist solicitors can offer a high quality of work and training, with the added benefit of a less stressful living environment, proving that the town can compete with the likes of Leeds or Newcastle in terms of training and retaining the best legal talent.
