Latimer Hinks ball to benefit charities is a sell out!

Latimer Hinks is holding its charity ball on May 18th, 2012, and once again it is a sell out with over 260 guests due to attend.

The firms last ball, in 2010, raised a record £11,500 for the Help for Heroes charity, as well as a range of other beneficiaries.

Anne Elliott, Partner at Darlington-based Latimer Hinks, said: “We hope that this years ball will raise a similar amount, if not more, for our chosen charities and the success we have had in terms of selling tables is extremely encouraging.

Lawyers and staff from Latimer Hinks recently visited Phoenix House at Catterick Garrison, a new recovery centre for armed forces personnel, to see how some of the money raised would be put to use.

The ball will include a four course meal, along with entertainment from the band Huge, which proved very popular in 2010, charity auctions, raffles and more. Donations of raffle and auction prizes are being sought from businesses, individuals and organisations.

Anne Elliot added: “The Soldiers Charity provides lifetime support to soldiers, ex soldiers and their families, and we have great admiration for its work and that of St Teresa’s Hospice. We are very keen to offer both of these charities as much support as possible and we are looking forward to a great night, benefiting these and other very worthy causes.

Regional Director of Fundraising for The Soldiers Charity, Brian De La Haye said: “In the past two years, The Soldiers Charity has seen an increase of 30% in applications for support from soldiers who have taken part in current or past conflicts and we must raise £7 million per year in order to meet this demand.

“The support of firms such as Latimer Hinks are hugely important to our work and we are very grateful to have been chosen.
